Fields of Venice still contain some 217 wells that contribute significantly to the unique and attractive city.

Once the need for water supply, wells have become mere objects of urban furniture.

The first phase of the project led to the creation of a computerized card catalog historical and artistic in the sources, from the book A. Rizzi.

Each card was stored in a relational database and is accompanied by more digitized images of the object to which it relates.

The computerized catalog has made possible a whole series of analysis on the entire collection, hitherto inaccessible.

Clearly, the computerized catalog, is only one component of this system, already represents a substantial improvement on the printed catalogs.

According to data collected, we created a special algorithm to categorize and prioritize the intervention of the artefacts that need restoration, and has subsequently done to create a prototype management application for this heritage.

The interface is easy to use and exploit the latest technology at MIT in Boston to put together alphanumeric data, photos and maps "lives" georeferenziate.

Despite the apparent simplicity, This interface represents the best available today for managing a collection of widely distributed over an area as complex as that of Venice.

The application allows you to select (with maximum flexibility), to browse and print all 217 pits visible in fields, squares and courtyards of the CS. Venice, displaying all the physical data, digital photos of each side and the lid and the location in map, both in the general context (overall view), both in particular (Zoom view).
