A complete map of the islands of the lagoon of Venice

The roads and canals of Venice are decorated by some 3.000 art "external" (also known as "erratic") is mostly made up of stone materials displayed in various ways on the walls of religious buildings, public and private.

The project has led to the creation of a computerized card catalog historical and artistic in the sources, from the book A. Rizzi.

Each card was stored in a relational database and is accompanied by the image scanned object to which it relates and two maps that identify the spatial location (see Fig.3).

The interface is easy to use and exploit the latest technology at MIT in Boston to put together alphanumeric data, photos and maps "lives" georeferenziate.

Despite the apparent simplicity, This interface represents the best available today for managing a collection of widely distributed over an area as complex as that of Venice.
